SL500 Wheel Fitment on a CLK
Hi Guys,
I'm helping out a friend who does not use the internet.
He bought factory SL500 AMG wheels from ebay and he has a 2000 CLK320. He tried the rear wheels and they rub up against the wheel well. My guess is that the wheels have the wrong offset or the tire is too wide.
Wheel and tire specs:
Manufacturer Part Number: A 230 401 2102 2103
Front:
18x8.5 Offset = 30mm
255/40/18
Rear 18x9.5 Offset = 33mm
285/35/18
From what I researched, the rear of the CLK needs a 35mm offset.
Is there anyway I can just change the tire size to make these fit? What size?
I think he is going to need a smaller front tire size, correct?
Are wheel spacers and option? I know they not the safest.
