'08 S550 w/AMG sports pack: Tire question
The dealer tells me that my car (S550/AMG) which will arrive by mid April will have Continental tires on it 
. Needless to say, I don't like the Continentals and want either Michelin or some other high end brand.
I spent 15 mins. talking to someone at the parts dept. at MB/Austin and he told me that he unequivocally recommends Michelin followed by a distant 2nd. Continental
....told me that he's had problems with other tires (esp. Pirelli's) on the S550/AMG
Is this something the dealership can ask for while the car is being built in Germany? I don't see why they can't put the ones I want on that car.
Does anybody have experience with this and/or which tires suit the S550/AMG best for all-season high performance and looks

I doubt you will be able to select the tire especially since the AMG package only comes with performance summer tires and not all season.
Buy aftermarket? The only all-season 19" tires listed on Tire Rack for 08 S550 Sport are the Yokohama ADVAN S.4. Yokohama is now OEM for some MBZ models:
