I've got my brake dusting problem solved.
I got a set of Rotex brake pads for my ML and after bedding them in according to the supplied instructions, there is no squealing and very little to almost no dusting.

Stopping distances seem to be about the same and when the time comes, I will be getting them for my CLK too.
I don't have to do a twice a week washing of the wheels like I did with the OE pads.
