H&R coilover. Does the rear perch go on top or bottom?

2002 c320 wagon
H&R coilover. Does the rear perch go on top or bottom?
I got H&R coilovers for my 2002 C320 Wagon. There was no instructions included and the mechanic installed them the rear height adjusting perch on the top of the springs which makes it impossible to adjust the height without taking apart the assembly. I saw some pics for BMWs and VWs that the perch is on the bottom of the springs and you adjust the height from the bottom. This makes more sense.

Did he install them upside down?

On my friend's R171 we also installed them like you said - that's the correct way to install them!!!
