Luke: Runflat vs. Standard (Michelin)
I purchased a set of Michelin Latitude Tour HP (ZP) in 19" flavor for my 2006 R500. Um, how can I put this......the $66,000 luxury vehicle I purchased, now rides like a 1995 Ford F150. I've never felt a ride so stiff since my lowered 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo (Race Prepped) car.
At the time, I didn't realize that ZP meant 'Zero Pressure' and I pulled the trigger on these runflats. It took me a while to surmise that my problem could be the new tires I just put on. So, is this normal behavior for a runflat tire in 19"? If so, how in the hell do people put up with this type of ride compliance?
With that said, I need to replace these. What do you recommend for this vehicle in an all-season tire? I'm open to budget tires as well, since these Michelin's set me back a pretty penny.
TIA.
#1.) did you get them from The Tire Rack?
#2.) if 'yes' to #1 how long ago?
#3.) if 'yes' to #1 were you informed that they were run flat tires?
#4.) what air pressure is in the tires?
I know runflats ride very harshly as do car manufacturers. Many people who purchase vehicles with runflats change them over to normal tires for that very reason.
Many cars that come with runflat tires have the suspension tuned a little softer because of the harshness of the tires to avoid exactly what you are describing
1 more ... thing I rather like the way a 1995 F150 rides when you have a few hundred pounds in the bed

#1 - Of course not. I thought it smarter to purchase a set of used ones with 99% tread life remaining. Now, I know why they were selling them with so few miles. Expensive lesson learned.
#2 - N/A
#3 - N/A
#4 - Whatever is on the gas flap label. I wanna say 32/36 maybe?

After looking at what you guys offered and considering the price, I pulled the trigger on a set of Continental 4X4 Contacts (MB OEM). Please tell me I'm going to be happy with these. These set me back another $800.00+ and I'm getting them installed first thing tomorrow morning.
On an aside....anyone want a purchase a set of 90% treadlife Michelin runflats?

Question:
Do you get commission for tires sold? After I purchased, I felt like a complete tool for not giving you the sale. You've helped me a few times and with 3 Benzes and a Summer/Winter setup for 1 of them, I go through lots of tires. Lots.
I'd like to give you those sales, if you get commission.
