Will 9 inch front fit Carlsson 1/16 RS

Hi everyone.

I came across these wheels on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875220830

The guy has sold me wheels before, he is from that site bestdealsonwhls.com

Anyways, I went there and tried one on the car. The back is perfect
But the front will only not rub with a 5 mm spacer. He said we could shave the shock just a hair and it wont rub. Is this safe? I have bought whels from him before, he will give me a great price on them, but what do u feel about 9 inch wide all around? the front didnt seem to stick out of the fender without the spacer, and the rear looks nice and agressive, will I have handleing problems?

Also what do u think about the style, they will be going on a brilliant silver C230 K coupe.

Thanks alot!!
Also, he said we will put 235/45/17 on front which will be a lil streched and 255/40/17 in the rear. What do you think about this?

I dont think its a good idea to shave the shocks and put a 9" wheel in the front. The style is EXTREMELY OLD, it has been discountinued for years. The new 1/16 is just around the corner, you should get the new ones instead. Also, 17" is way too small for the C-coupe. Why bother changing the wheels if you're getting 17"? The stock has 17" already.

My opinion is No.

I think you should read this post:

Btw, would you really choose to shave something that holds compressed gas, over using a 5mm spacer?
