C63 snows - tire pressure?

C63 snows - tire pressure?
So here's a quandry - I put on nice new snows that TR measured up for me a few months back. I pressured them up to the spec on the car, guess what? the car slides around like the streets were covered with crisco.
I let some air out and things got better - but the gist of the question is this... what should the tire pressure be on winter rubber?
Since many people will see this - let's try and keep it size/tire brand inspecific, but assume it is a high performance, high load, dedicated snow tire (like LM22) in an 18-19" size.

235.40.18 all around @ 37lbs all corners. Stock wheels. Grips like stink in dry and wet. Time will tell in the snow...LOL

Thanks for the info. I'll have to drop some air to get some stink back 
We had our first snow today, though it was laughably about as much snow as McCain votes (few and none stuck). We'll see in a few more weeks.
