Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S

Hey,

I'm new to the board and am looking for advice. Just purchased Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S in the standard fitment mounted on original AMG monoblock wheels for my 2000 E55. When I do a slow speed turn, like when parking, the inside of the front tires sound and feel like they're rubbing on some part of the suspension. Tires don't make contact with anything when unloaded.

My intial thought is to exchange the tires and try another. My only other idea is to install the smallest H&R spacers (3mm) to move the wheel out slightly. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks!

depends on the weather
the Eagle isn't unusually wide I think you may be hearing something else. are you sure that they are 245/40-18 and 275/35-18?

I'm still not sure why the Goodyear was rubbing but it was clearly coming in contact with a bolt at the inside shoulder of the tire. The bolt was slightly worn and there was also a wear groove on the tire. Switched to a BF Goodrich Super Sport A/S and they are not coming in contact with the bolt. The Goodyear has a much thicker rim protector bead and a slightly different sidewall/shoulder shape, which may have contributed to the issue.

Well, I had a very similar experience with these tires.
They have a very wide shoulder. On my rears, I run other brands of tires in 265's with no rubbing. With the Eagle F1 A/S, I couldn't even fit 255, and that was AFTER fender rolling to try and make them work.
The other thing I would say is that IMHO, they are not the greatest tire. My fronts are absolutely destroyed after only two track days
