Can CLS500 AMG Wheels be installed on a E (211) Chassis

Hey everyone:

I originally posted this thread in the E (211) Chassis category but thought that it would do better here.

Here is my situation:

I have the opportunity to buy a set of AMG wheels that were from a CLS500. I have an E320. Anyway, the wheels sizes are as follows:

Front: 8.5JX18H2ET25

Rear: 9.5JX18H2ET28

The tires that are currently on these wheels are:

Front: 255/40/18
Rear: 265/35/18

The rears are practically brand new however the fronts need to be changed in about 8-10k miles.

I was told in my other thread that these wheels will fit but I would need to put smaller tires on. If this is true, how do I know the size of the tires? Should I compare to a set of AMG wheels on a E550, E55 or E63? Also, can someone confirm that these wheels will fit my E320?

Thank you for your help.

Joe

Get new front tires, I think you need to go with 245/40 18.

You are fine with the wheel/tire setup. the W211 can accomodate 255's up front.

yes they can handle 255s, but the rear overall diameter will be smaller than the front and the car will think the rear tires are slipping causing traction control to go haywire.
