OEM Wheels Re-Machined?
All - Looking for some constructive opinions if you have any...
I recently bought a 07 E350 with the Sport Wheels, and really like the way they look.
Here in Michigan, you don't see too many, so it took me awhile to find the one I really like.
Nevertheless, 2 of the 4 wheels have slight curb rash along the edge of the wheels, and 1 has a nick or two also along the edge.
After talking to a couple of different "alloy wheel repair shops", it sounds like in order to do it right, they need to re-machine the wheel down in order to remove the curb rash.
If my wheels had been painted, it would of cost me $120/wheel to refinish. But because my wheels are machine-finished, it will cost me $140/wheel + 4 days without a car.
Has anyone on this forum ever had their OEM wheels re-machined before, and if so, how happy were you with the results?
Thanks in advance for any opinions/feedback you may have.
