The Ventus S1 evo is Hankook's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans. The Ventus S1 evo is designed and built for improved durability by minimizing distortion at high speeds and high temperatures. Like all summer tires, the Ventus S1 evo is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Ventus S1 evo radials feature Hankook's Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS) compound molded into an asymmetric tread design that features continuous ribs to reduce noise while increasing longitudinal stiffness to enhance braking performance on dry roads. Wide circumferential grooves and large shoulder notches help water flow through the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by two-ply high-density, spirally wrapped jointless nylon. Additionally, a two-layer rayon carcass that sandwiches a hard sidewall filler between the body cord plies helps resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering.

How do these compare to the Continental ContiSportContact 3 in terms of off the line grip and general handling? My fronts still have 3/4 of the tread left and I would only be replacing the rears with the Hankooks.

 

while they can not be exactly the same they are not far off in dry grip levels but, the Contis are better in the wet
