Wheel question: W208 16" rims on W126? Luke, anyone?

Wheel question: W208 16" rims on W126? Luke, anyone?
My flatmate has a W126 300SE. He also has a set of W208 16" rims. The bolt pattern matches (5x112) but the offset isn't correct. The W208 wheels sit too far inboard. The dust caps won't clear over the front hubs.

Any suggestions on how large of spacers to run, and what length of bolts to purchase? I run 10/20mm spacers on my 18" BBS rims on my GTI, so I'm familiar with the H/R Spacer world - I just don't know which ones to recommend that he purchase.

Just for clarification, this is the rim we're trying to fit:
