Which tires will be the perfect fit for my 07' C230 Sport??? HELP!

Which tires will be the perfect fit for my 07' C230 Sport??? HELP!
Help! I can't seem to get a firm answer from ANYONE!!
I have a 2007 C230 Sport and I've decided on a set of AMG replicas that are 18x8.5 front with 35MM offset, and 18x9.5 rear with 38MM offset.
The tires recommended to me was this:
1) 225 - 40 - 18 front
2) 255 - 35 - 18 rear
Here's my question, one guy from a tire store told me the rear rim with 38MM offset will not be a good look, another guy told me 255 - 35 -18 may be a tight fit and cause "rubbing".
Can someone tell if these tires will fit and look right? Obviously I don't want the tires to look pushed beyond the fender or inward..
