I don't get it... plz explain about tires types.

Specification: Sidewall: Revolutions
225/45R17: 4.0 in: 808 / mile
225/45R16: 4.0 in: 841 / mile
205/55R16: 4.4 in: 811 / mile

Sp, The bigger the radius is... the less revolutions? the less revolutions... slower the car is?

and whats the difference between 225/45R16 and 205/55R16? it looks like the first one has more revolutions.

do you think I could use the 225 on my car?

no, not the slower the car is, it means the outside circumference of the tire is larger meaning it has to rotate fewer times to cover the same distance.

the difference is 20mm in tire width (225 being wider) and 11mm in sidewall height (225 having smaller sidewall).

and yes you probably could use 225/45r17 since that's the tire size used on the C7 package.

could you...yes, but, it would require re-calibration fo transmission and speedometer since you are decreasing the overall tire circumference. if you got 17" wheels with 225/45/r17 tires, you wouldn't need the recalibration since they are almost identical in circumference. i also wouldn't recommend it. the car doesn't have so much power for traction to be an issue, which is why you would get wider tires. the only other reason would be if you got wider rims, in which case you would need a lower profile tire. changing the tire will not make your car faster. different tires may stick better, so you could tkae turns better, but they wont affect your acceleration in this car in any noticeable way.

there are many tire size calculating sites...like this one

if u really need a big example roll a pen and see how many rotations it needs to cover a foot....think a tire...and think how many rotations it needs to cover a foot...

the slower the car? that depends on a lot of things...simple revolutions just isn't enough to determine it. anything less than 3% give or take should be fine for ur spedometer....
