03 C240 wheel & tire recommended

I recently just purchased a 2003 C240 sedan and i was wondering what you recommend. 18's or 19's. What tire size for each, and what wheel you would recommend. Would the 19's rub? Just basic questions from a newbie.....

Before having us to answer your questions....you have to give is more info.....such as do you prefer a more comfortable ride or do you prefer a more aggressive look? will you lower your car after changing the wheels? what kind of wheels do you like, classic 5 spokes or mesh? And most important of all....what is your budget?

Well I figure mounting 18's or 19's your not going to have the comfortable ride that the 16's have. I would shoot the the aggressive look with some comfort. I like chrome over alloy, and if there is a large gap between the fender well and the tire I will lower it, if not than I will leave the stock height. I like having no gap between the fender and the tire, gives it a cleaner look. Budget, really dont matter. I wont spend $7000 on wheels and tires, but anything around $5000 I think is fairly reasonable. I hope this helps.

depends on the weather
the ride quality would suffer somewhat when you go to larger wheels because in order to have the same outside diameter you will have shorter sidewalls on the tires .... done correctly you would not have rubbing issues

225/40-18
235/35-19

would be the correct sizes

Luke: if one were to use 235 & 265 tires on a 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 wheel, assuming there are no problems with offsets & backspacing, will it be 235/40/18 and 265/35/18? or will it be 235/35/18 or 265/30/18? And why?

Thanks for yr input.

the 225/40-18 and 255/35-18 are a better fit for your car because it utilizes a 25" tire diameter and guess what the diameters of the 225/40 and 255/35 sizes are ..... you're right ... 25"

I had 18x8.5 wheels with 225/40/18 tires and the rim was wider than the tire. It didnt look right. What can you do to make the 235/40/18 work all around on 18x8.5 wheels for a 98 CLK320?
