Looking around for a decent all season tire that won't cost a fortune (because I'm poor).

Was looking at the Goodyear Eagle GT A/S, which doesn't have much history on it yet, and also the Sumitomo A/S. For $88, could this be a steal or a bust?

depends on the weather
The HTR + has very soft sidewalls which tend t lead to irregular wear and noise on heavier cars.

The Eagle GT is a pretty good drive but, long term characteristics have not been sorted out yet as it is a new design. The folks who i have spoken to riding on them report no rnotable issues

GMC - Miata - Trek - P-Car
Several here are pleased with Michelin’s A/S Plus.
Less than $200 a corner OTD for 17s.

If you intend to keep the E430 another 25,000 miles until your E65 arrives,
they’re actually a decent value given their longevity and excellent manners.

I just bought a pair of Sumitomos for the front of my E55. Though I'm a performance car guy through and through, I honestly don't care to spend $$$ on "great" tires. I can't comment on their longevity as I just got them, but they ride fine and the car turns left and right, so I'm happy.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go with the GTs.

Splinter, You missed the part about being poor. I just took off a set of worn Pilot Sport A/S and some guy in the shop bought them for $50. I was going to toss them in the dumpster. Hell of a good tire, I agree, but I don't drive much and a new set of Pilots would last 20 years at the rate I'm going.
