My 2005 SL600 has 15K miles on the clock on the stock Michelin Pilot Sports sized at 245/45/18 and 285/40/18. Tire pressure is set to OEM specs, but I get a squealing when taking turns at parking lot speeds.
What causes this? I have noticed that they're a tad on the loud side, and I'm guessing that 15K is just about end of life on a car like the SL600. I'm not at the wear bars yet and the car is not lowered.
Ideas?

You sure the fronts are 245? I think they should be 255s. I have the conti contact3s and they are completely quiet when turning at any speed.

My SL's tires squeak as well when turning after coming to a stop. Why? I have no clue. Have I had MB take a look? Yup, no idea.
