size of tires for w203 with 17x8 wheels all around
First of all I wanted to say thanks to all of you. I've been reading a lot of useful articles from this website, but never really needed to post. I've searched on this forum and other places and need some help.
I was hoping someone can suggest me what size of tires I should run for the front and rear wheels? I just picked up stock e500 wheels (sample picture: http://images03.olx.com/ui/1/36/19/2982719_1.jpg)
Original wheels were 17x7.5 (offset: 36) front and 17x8.5 (offset: 34) rear, with 225 45 17 and 245 40 17 respectively. The new e500 wheels are 17x8 all around (offset: 38) with 245 45 17 tires all around. I had to get 5mm spacers for front wheels because caliper wouldn't clear.
Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems like the rear tires are fine although they are slightly bigger than original tires. Front tires are fine at lower speeds and even if I turn it doesn't seem like they rub (although tires are pretty close to the suspension plate but not touching). However, once I get on a highway I can feel slight vibration and if I steer left or right to follow the road along it seems like tires are rubbing. Would you recommend to get smaller size tires? 225 45 17 or 235 40 17? I am not sure how it would work out with wider wheels (17x8) and with 5mm spacers.
