rim and tire suggestions for a w208
I found these on ebay but don't know the quality and am a bit reluctant to put on fake amg's take offs:

just got my new 18" Forgestars but haven't mounted them yet (see my thread asking about tire sizes).
the only advice I have is to AVOID any cheap wheels. I learned my lesson years ago buying cheap wheels for my toyota. they were so freaking heavy. I learned first hand about the effects of extra unsprung weight on your car. it slowed my car down very noticeably. alot.
pretty much universally - cheap wheels are HEAVY. and heavy wheels WILL slow down your car and make it handle like crap.
I went with Forgestars because they were very lightweight, without having the huge investment cost of many of the higher end forged wheels (HRE, VOLK, etc).
I tried the wheels on my car this last weekend (without tires), they looked awesome. I know 265/35/18's will go on the back, just trying to decide which size fronts to go with. was thinking 245/35/18, but I might go with 235/35/18 instead so there will be no rubbing.
I weighed my new Forgestars: 18x8.5 were 19 lbs
18x9.5 were 21 lbs
weighed my stock wheels/tires when I took them off: (17 inch stock AMG wheels) front: 48 lbs
rear: 51 lbs
this means that even though I went up from 17's to 18's and my new wheels are wider than stock, even with tires mounted they should be 3 to 5 pounds lighter PER wheel! this means that along with the improved appearance, I will also be enjoying an increase in "felt" horsepower/ acceleration.
I've experienced this in 2 other cars by going to a lighter wheel/tire.
I will continue to look for rims. I am very picky and know what I want which is basically e63 rims. Someone in here told me they would not fit so I am basically looking for something that looks like them and can't seem to find anything. The ones on ebay are very close to what I want but yes very cheap and probably very heavy so the search continues. I was hoping someone put the 18 inch oem e63 rims on their clk but after posting it looks like no ones has done it.
Can you give me an FYI of what offset means when it comes to putting other rims on your car?

I cant find the exacts specs for my 2000 clk430 but found this:
front rim 17x7.5 with 32-35 mm offset
rear rim 17x8.5 with 32-38 mm offset
I can't find the exact offset for my car but did find this:

Where you can plug in what you have and what you will get to see if it would work. Ugh hard to find if these rims will fit and don't want a seller to just say sure these will work need to confirm on my own.
