e320 1997 shock installation

I just bought my own four shocks after learning that the local wheel works wanted nearly $800 to install + the shocks. Manuals I read suggest this is a straightforward job. I even have the special tools needed for the top nuts on the front shocks. Could anyone tell me if I am correct about this, or is the job much more complex? In addition, is front end realignment necessary after replacing shocks? Car has 71000 miles and alignment was just made.
