Luke: 285/25/20 tire on 9.5" rim?
All of the 285/25/20 tires listed at Tirerack.com show a minimum rim width range of 10", yet I read and hear from a variety of sources that using this size tire on a 9.5" wide rim is no problem.
Is it safe to use a rim narrower than the design specification of the tire manufacturer? Which brand tires are safest to use when the rim width is less than specified by the tire manufacturer?
