Chroming Factory Wheels Recommended?

Is chroming the factory light alloy wheels on a new ML350 recommended? Will MB warranty cover the wheels after chroming, does chroming change the structural intergity of the wheel. What about gas mileage?

Yes, integrity is compromised and MB has a bulletin discussing it.

Thanks for all the input - I think chrome wheels look great on a MB however, my concerns was will the chroming process make the wheels weaker and I got the answer I needed not to chrome the wheels on a new vehicle.
