I have a 2009 C63 AMG and I just ordered a set of OEM 19" Style V wheels (19x8 front 19x9 rear) and I'm wondering what tire size I should go with. I do a lot of autocross and road courses (Infineon, Laguna Seca, etc). I was told 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear are the biggest I can safely go without rubbing. Would they look weird on the stock width?

Also, is there any reason why the front sidewall height is 35 and the rear is 30? Should I bring the rear up to 35 to level it out and if I did that would it effect the handling?

Thanks.

Im not a tire expert, but can tell you that a 275 on a 9" wheel will be fine. Also, the heights are different b/c of the wheel size and the brand may not carry the different width and height on the same tire.

while I agree with the 245/275 width being the max for your car (providing you have the correct wheel offsets). The 30 and 35 aspect ratios will make the tires 25.7" tall (stock is 25.3") which will alter your gear ratio. That ratio change can reduce throttle response in some cases. 18's would offer better performance and a less skittish feel when at the limit. which in turn will give you more confidence to explore those limits.

you may want to rethink your track/AutoX setup and use the 19's for street cruising
