Tires for E430 Sport?

Tires for E430 Sport?
My1998 MBZ E430 Sport currently has Yokohama AVS Sport 235/45 ZR17 tires. About 50% tread depth left and they are NOISY.
The noise has reached a point that is intolerable. I have been looking at the reviews on the Tire Rack web-site and the B'stone Potenza S-03 looks like a good choice, but the "tram-lining" reports concern me as I'm in Northern California where most freeways are grooved.
Anyone have experience with the S0-03 regarding tram-lining? How about noise?
I'm also looking at the Yoko AVS dB. any thoughts out there on that tire; or others? Moderately hard driving style but comfort and quiet are important too [my other car is a Corvette C5 Convertible, 6 speed Z51--that gets the REAL driving!]
What about moving up to a 245/45 size? Is it worth it?
