Offset for '03 CLK500

Offset for '03 CLK500
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in trying offsets for a 2003 CLK500. I will be buying one later this week if all goes well, and will be buying a set of rims and tires as well. What offset is needed on a 18x8 rim, to be flush with the fenders, and/or be tucked once car is lowered?

Also, when lowering a car with 80k miles, can I put on just a set of lowering springs, or do I *have to replace shocks as well? I would love to get rims, tires, and lower it at the same time, but I cant afford a full coilover set-just springs.
