problems after installing new wheels on a 02 c coupe

Yesterday i picked up some new wheels for my 02 coupe, went from 16's to 17's. the wheels were OEM MB and had no problem with the installation but after they were installed i realized the OEM bolts were too long and the car wouldnt move in 1st gear. so after having a panic attack thinking i broke something i put the original wheels back on and now my rear discs and calipers wont seems to let go of the rotors did i actually damage something by doing this? it sounds like nails on a chalk board when i drive the car =// i am planning to order the new shorter bolts from MB tomorrow

if anyone could please help i would appreciate it !!!

(after putting the original wheels back on the problem still wasnt fixed now the car somewhat hesitates to move but it goes, the rears feel like their holding the car back)

There are numerous threads on MBW that detail the problem with using incorrect length bolts. Don't drive it anymore til you get it fixed.

i parked the car and i am leaving it alone, do you think i destroyed the parking brake assembly? or could it be something else?

How did you know the bolt is too long?

depends on the weather
the bolts that were too long bent part of the parking brake assembly (it's a drum brake mechanism inside of the rotor hat) .... look there for your problem as I am 100 % positive that is what has happened

i got it repaired at my local shop not the stealership, i only damaged the springs and now it seems as though i have 7 threads or 1.7mm clearance using the lugs designed for the spare, so i think thats what i will do
