Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 vs. Bridgestone RE760

I'm trying to decide between the Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 vs. Bridgestone RE760.

The Bridgestone's RE760 are a little more expensive, abd people claim they are getting 20K + miles out of a set, which is good too.
They come to 468 set, but then you get a $70 gift card in the form of a rebate, so 398 is the cost before shipping.

The Firestone's at 404 a set, suprisingly have good reviews, and one guy with a Chevy HHR claimed to get 60K + miles on his set along with good traction etc.

I have a 2002 C230 Coupe, and I've run RE050A PP's which lasted like 10K miles, Sumitomo HTR3's which only lasted 5K miles, and I've used quite a few Fuzion ZRi's and they are adequate, but last a little longer, maybe 12K
but not much.
I had Michelin Pilots when the car was new, got nearly 25K out of those.

I've been running offset wheels, and the backs go quick, so
I'm switching back to stock rims, and 225-45-17's all the way around to be able to rotate, and more miles out of a set.

One thing that drew me to the Firestone was
the comment that they don't have much trammeling, whereas the
Bridgestone's people said they do, and around here, with all the grooved pavement, that's bad.

I saw the firestone's when I went to the local dealer to check out the bridgestones. They looked pretty good.
I went home and researched a little and they are supposed to be pretty damn good! The lowest rating is still like an 8!

What does everyone think?
If I'm going to order the 760's I need to do it soon to get the rebate.

depends on the weather
interesting choices ... here's my take

The RE760 has an asymmetric tread design and that means it can be rotated any which way you want to get better tread wear.

The Wide Oval also offers pretty good wear characteristics but with a directional design you will only be able to rotate front to rear.

Also, the shoulder area (where the sidewall meets the tread) of the wide oval is very rounded which make the tire appear narrower that the RE760.

Both are very good tires but, in the end it comes down to a couple of very simple things. The RE760 performs better do to the wider contact patch. That added performance comes at a cost ... the cost is a little more tramlining

Can I specify a delivery date?
I need to buy the BS's before the 19th I think to get the rebate,
but I'll be out of town and won't be around to accept delivery.

Which tire is likely to wear longer?
I've never rotated tires side to side,
does that strategy help the tires last longer?

And OK, since I've never heard of it, how does that work?
Do you rotate like in a circle?

And since I've got the expert here, what tire would you think would be my best bet,
in the $400-500 a set range, summer tires, but still good in the rain, with an eye towards longevity?
Not noisy, decent grip, longer life than say Fuzions or Re050PP's.
I'd like to see 25K miles on a set minimum.
I can't afford all these tires!
With the offset AMG's I'm changing rear tires more frequently than oil changes!
Hence I'm going back to stock.
I'm not big on all season tires living in San Joser, but was curious about the RE960's.

depends on the weather
the wear characteristics are very similar but, the RE760 will slightly out last the Wide Oval
