Wanli Tires

Has anyone here ever tried Wanli brand tires, particularly the S1099? Seems to be somewhat decent but there isn't much information out there on them.

Never heard of it. Are they made in china? The tread looks very much like Yokohama AVS.

Yes they are made in China. I was thinking maybe they are owned by Yokohama or something. Does anyone know where Yokohama tires are made?

Yokohama Tires (named after Yokohama, a large city in Japan) are usually manufactured in Japan. I was a long-time fan of Yokohama back in my (believe it or not) muscle car and rice rocket days. After switching to Euro, I also switched to Dunlop/Michelin as my primary manufacturers. Recently a few Yokohamas caught my eye as being innovative and I have put them on two of my cars, and am COMPLETELY satisfied again. The ES100s are good if you want the look but don't need all the performance; otherwise their cornering traction isn't that great. But AVS Intermediate are some of the better performing tires, and the Geolandar M/T is a mud tire that surpasses the BFG Mud Terrain in some respects.

Sorry, I digressed from Wanli tires...

Well, after readin this and seein the cool tread, i decided to give it a shot..

I got them in 215/45/17 replacing my oem conti sport contacts which let me tell you SUCKED!

The wanli's are great, even in the wet and grip well, and when you push them to the limit, they break away evenly and dont suddenly just break traction..

I payed 340 all installed and mounted balenced on my 2002 c coupe with the C7 wheels 17 X 7.5

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting them mounted tomorrow so hopefully I will have the same results you did.

Seat Ibiza TDI Sport
Conti, Dunlop, Fulda, etc.

all these brands have a great history, but they lost at the quality.

Well in Germany following tires are selling very good:

Hankook (they won many Test Awards)
Toyo (they whon at the 19" Tests)

also WanLi is selling very good atm.

i am planning to buy for my 17" Rims Hankook or Toyo. Why ?

Well the tire looks nice, hes cheap and the German Tests say: Cheap and very good Tires...
