17" * 8.5" et30mm AMG in front?
Hi everyone,
This is my first post on these forums. I have an obsidian black 2000 W202 C200. I have an option to purchase a set of 4 17" * 8.5" et30mm AMG (SLK style) wheels for a relatively good price. However I understand that the dimensions of these wheels are actually meant for the rear and that the fronts should be 7.5" wide with a 37mm(?unsure?) offset? Considering that the wheels are actually 1" wider, this adds 1/2" to each side of the wheel and the reduction of 7mm in offset means an 8.5" wheel will stick out a good 2cm more than a 7.5" wheel. Will they stick out of the guards and scrub anything on full lock? Is there anyone in Australia with a 7.5" all-round setup who wants to upgrade the rears?
Regards,
Louis

You are correct, those 17X8.5 et30 are only for the W202 rear only. The don't fit the W202 front properly. Yes, the fronts are 17X7.5 et 37. The recommended tires are:
225/45/17 front/all
245/40/17 rear
225/45/17 front/all
245/40/17 rear

Thanks for the quick reply E55 KEV! I'll prob just have to look for a shop that's willing to trade a pair of fronts for a pair of my rears or someone who's got a set of 4 fronts who want's to upgrade.
