w203 parking brake problem
hi
i have recently bought a 2001 c320 and the parking brake has stopped working .i have replaced the plastic ratchet wich works fine ,but the brake will not stay engaged . i have looked at the mechenisum and all seems to be fine does anyone have any idea's

Did you manage to get this sorted?
I've got the same problem on mine - the pedal will not stay down!
The parking brakes engage but the pedal will not stay down and springs back up - hence the parking brakes are then released!

There is a pawl that wears out.. its not the plastic piece that holds its a metal tab...
but the problem is that you cant get the part seperatly.. have to buy whole assembly or hit up
some salvage yards
