Does it ride the same/pothole worries- 255/35/19 & 285/30/19 vs 245/35/20 & 285/30/20

I have a CLS63 AMG - Because the CLS can do the 245/285 20" setup, it gives more meat on the tire and most cars can't pull this off but the CLS can. My question is
the height are the same. So does a 255/35/19 & 285/30/19 ride the same and if you hit the same pothole have the same outcome as 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 setup.
I have heard it will ride the exact same since the height is the same, and some said no the 20s will still ride harsher and you will need to worry about potholes more than the 19" setup I just said.
Can anyone else chime in?
your 35 series front tire and 30 series rear tire for the 19's will need to change to a 30 series front and a 25 series rear for proper fitment

If the wheel is larger isn't more liable to bend, flex or break with a 25 series tire on it? You live in pothole city like most sub/urban areas as the new Jimmy Carter "Rebuilds America Shovel Ready." Besides the 20" combos are probably heavier. There was a kid with a Cayenne S Turbo with 22" chrome slush wheels with 25 aspect tires who was in the tire shore having rims/wheels replaced just about anytime I drove by especially in pothole season.
