05 ML 500, ball joints squeek. MN shop?

Question 05 ML 500, ball joints squeek. MN shop?
Hi,
my 2005 ML 500 with 59K, the lower front ball joints are starting to squeek loudly but are just slightly loose---would not replace if they weren't squeeking. Tiny amount of play.

Any suggestions?
Has anyone ever drilled/installed zerk fitting and greased them good with synthetic grease?

Midas had $790 estimate. Haven't been to MB dealer yet.

Is it difficult job to perform? Any special tools needed?
What web store has best prices on ball joints, air filter, cabin filter, oil filter,
etc??

Recommended shops in St. Paul, MN area that can install ball joints?
