New AMG 8,0 x 18 ET 30

New AMG 8,0 x 18 ET 30

AMG has new 8.0 x 18 ET 30 wheel available in Style3 and Style4 for new E-Class W211.

I think this should be lighter than most 18" wheel in the market as its 0.5" narrower in width.

In addition imo 225/40R18 would also looks nicer when fitted on 8.0" than 8.5" width rim.

Do you think this will fit in my C-Coupe all round (front and rear axle)?

Btw, W211 uses 14mm and W203 uses 12mm lugs, would there be any differences on the wheel in this case

depends on the weather
they will not work because as you mentioned the W211 uses a 14mm lug bolt not a 12mm ... and the radius ball seat for a 14mm bolt has a 14mm radius

But my neighbour has bought and installed a set of used W211 Avant Garde wheel on their W210 without any problem.

Why is that possible anyway?

Just because something is possible doesn't make it right.

If one ONLY takes a rim with a 14mm ball seat and installs it on a car with 12mm lugs, you figure there is 1mm LESS all around of material holding that wheel on. 1mm doesn't sound like a lot, but when it is only 3mm to start with, the amount has been reduced significantly. In addition, this material is only aluminum alloy, definitely not the strongest material known to man. Finally, because the ball of a 12mm lug is 12mm radius, and the ball seat in a wheel intended for 14mm lugs is 14mm radius, the ball is sitting in the seat only contacting the wheel on a very small area. Thus, all the forces and pressures acting on the 4000lbs car are concentrated on a very small area of aluminum alloy.

This probably will work fine for a while... maybe forever... maybe for a day. Who knows what kind of emergency maneuver may put extra stress on the wheel?

Wouldn't it be better to have engineering on your side rather than working against you? If not, there area whole bunch of things one can do to the car that it isn't designed for, like using Dexron III in the 5-speed auto transmission... etc.

Did you see that some of the July-build cars were switched to allow ordering with nav? Better double check with your dealer!

Otherwise, I can hook you up.
