2000 E320 wheel/tire upgrade - HELP!

My stock (goodyear) tires are now worn out on my 2000 E320 (stock wheels and stock tires), after 25,000 miles. I don't know much about tires and wheels on cars - even though I'm a real car enthusiast - so i would appreciate any help i can get here! I know about www.tirerack.com - but i need real opinions and help from you benz enthusiasts please!

OK, so i want to upgrade my wheels and tires...

My favorite wheels are the "sport edition" wheels that were avaiable on the 2001-2002 W210 E-Class. However, these are not available on tirerack.com and i have no idea where to get them for a decent price. any ideas? I believe these are 17 inch wheels.

My other choice is the 18-inch AMG MONOBLOCK wheels which came standard on the 2000-2002 Mercedes E55 AMG. I'm worried that the ride is going to be way to harsh with these wheels - is this true? Is it MUCH MUCH harder than the stock 16 inch rims/tires combo? Is it a REALLY HARSH ride with these?

Also, which tires are best for each option? Thanks so much for any input, advice, or opinions on this - b/c its really important to me! Thanks again!

You can try the MERCEDES dealer for Take Off wheels/tires.
They Will have The Sport 17s..or the 18s AMG mono block

Do a Search at Several MB dealers..The Larger ones will have a Tire shop.Like Fletcher Jones and House of Imports here in So Cal

You can Buy The Rims USED and save some Money.as Long as they are Not Damaged with or without tires
Tire rack has great Info on tires ..Give them a try!

I Have 18 AMGs Take off from a E55 on my W210 and The Ride is ok ..Not as Soft as the OE set up but it is ok.
The Car is Lowered and the shocks are changed

I agree with Mark, the dealers usually have pretty good deals on take-offs but you can also go on ebay and see what they have. There are sport wheels and AMG Mono's on there pretty frequently. Good luck on your upgrade...

Are you talking about the DB5-style wheels, 5-hole?

I think you might find a replica version under the tires.com website... they differ than some of the originals slightly, some of the OEMs are 7.5" width and these are 8".
