245/50/17 fitted to 2007 E350
Just got new Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires from TireRack (thanks, good service) and fitted then to my E350. The original tires were 245/45/17 but I went with a slightly higher sidewall to smooth out the bumps a bit- which these new tire do.
The speedo error is only 3.7% so I can live with that.
The question I have is that the sidewalls of the new tires protudes a lot further than the old ones - nealry 1/2" more, and at the beading the tend to come out nearly horizontally.
It all looks ok - just wondering if anyone else has experienced this ?
