Understanding Wheel Offsets
Ok, I know what it means when they say a wheel is 19x8.5ET35.
For my car, rims with a 35-38 offset is best.
My question is this, if a wheel says it has a configuration of 19x8.5ET44 and I add a 10mm spacer, would that technically convert the wheel to a +34mm offset overall, correct?
If that understanding is correct, that means, that if I see a wheel with 19x8.5ET28, it won't work on my car right? Add in a 10mm spacer will only make it worst, bring it to an overall offset of +18?
Please, someone help me understand this. Am I interpretting it correctly? or am I understanding it backwards?
Thanks!
