Question I need spacers? or shocks for my new wheels..

I got a 2001 C320. the stock wheel dimensions are 205 55 R16. i bought new rims for it 18" and im having problems with the fitment of the tires. the only tires available are way too thin and would bend my rims, according to my buddy who works at a tire depot. he says the only tires fittable are 235 35 R18, and those would only bend the rims and be very rough when driving over cracks.

The dimensions for the 18" rims include:
  • Size: 18"x8"
  • Offset: +32mm
  • Bolt Pattern: 5x112
  • Finished: Black / Chrome
  • Center Bore: 66.6mm
  • Material: Alloy
Please i need help as to what is needed so i can put decently thick tires so the ride is smooth and my rims dont get damaged. People are telling me i need spacers and others are saying i need shocks.

any information would be great. . thanks.

depends on the weather
you need tire size 225/40-18

no spacers
no shocks

should be a issue free fitment if your wheel specs are correct

A 215 is way too skinny, don't make the same mistake next time you buy tires. You should have got the 225 or even the 235. I would be afraid to turn fast using a 215, now your traction control is going to eat up your brakes.

BTW shocks have nothing to do with ride height and that's why changing them wont help with your rim/tire size
