Suspension Kit - 2004 C230 Sport Sedan
Luke, and you other motor heads,
After 95,000 miles, I think it is time to change the dampers on my MB. In doing research on The Tire Rack and a few other sites, I have narrowed it down to three choices: Bilstein B12, Koni FSD, or Koni kit using their adjustable Sport dampers. Cost is a consideration, but so is performance and a reasonable ride. I am a spirited driver, but do not do track days. I value performance but I don't want to get beaten up by my car either.
Additional considerations, I will probably add the H&R anti-roll bars, front and rear. I am also planning to up-size from my 17" wheels to 18". That means a 40 series front tire and a 35 series rear tire. This is probably a recipe for a pretty firm ride anyway, so selection of springs and dampers is very important.
I have used Bilsteins in the past and loved them, but that was on a Corvette and I didn't give a crap about ride back then. The Bilsteins are new enough, I haven't found any subjective testing comments from anyone, yet. So, what do you guys think? Bilstein or a Koni kit?
