hey Luke,

I'm not gonna try and step on anyones toes, but isn't 30/34 a little low for 18s? Again, i'm not trying to insult you or anything... you have by far much more knowledge than I in these areas...

Just that most people opt to raise the psi more to protect their rims from potholes & stuff... if 30/34 is what the book says, do you suggest something a little different on a personal level?

there is an acceptable pressure range you can use to 'tune' the car to the ride quality you prefer .... I prefer that my car offers a combination of good steering response and ride quality but, for better steering response add more air pressure and for a softer ride reduce the air pressure .... alot of people do exactly what you mentioned for wheel protection but, that also promotes irregular tire wear in most cases

CLK 230 Kompressor
I have exactly the same tyre set-up.
I inflate to 37 all round.
I have tried lower pressures, but it just alarmed me to see that when the car was parked on an irregular road surface, the sidewall flex was quite pronounced.
The ride is harsher with 37 psi but I get peace of mind knowing that the sidewall is going to be a bit stiffer.
