Guys and gals.
I was a little skeptical about installing one, given MB body is quite well built comparing to rice rockets i used to drive in my teenage years, but i was wrong. Even with solid body that Benz has, there is still flex and a strut tower brace does help.
Thanks to a board member i acquired one and installed it today. Must say it takes away allot of boat feel around the corners. Steering is a little more precise and car doesn't roll as much. Now don't get me wrong, its not an ABC feel, but it does help. Perhaps because i drive a boat ( S class), i see a good difference
If once in a while you feel like doing some spirited driving and you are one of those people that is in-tuned with their car, you will certainly like this.
Just a word of advice, be careful when putting back the lug nuts and don't drop them in to the engine
dont ask how i know.....
happy

Can you post where you bought this from. Very interested in installing one in my 07 S550.
Thanks
I got it from a board member on this site.

Does it take away from the ride quality at all? Seems like it would transmit bumps a bit more to the driver?
anything you do to the car has a potential for changing something.
theoretically strut brace reduces flex between two sides and should not reduce shock absorption. then again the more body flexes the more shock it should absorb beyond your suspension. i bet you'll hear a ton from both sides.
all i can say that i do not feel that it stiffened the ride when it comes to bumps and potholes. Perhaps because i'm already on 20 inch rims and ride is harsher than stock wheels to begin with.

Question: does the bar hinder access when replacing the air filters??

yes, there is about an inch of clearance between the air box and the strut brace. thats not enough to pull the air box off the engine.Originally Posted by S550v

i cleaned my filters before installing the brace so i wont have to take it all off for a little while.
