Luke, which winter tire for a 2010 E550 4matic using 7.5 x 17" rims

Hi, I'd like to use a set of 17" alloy rims I was using for winter tires on a C-class.

I'd like winter tires with snow traction as their strength. I'm thinking the Michelin Xi3 in 225/50 17. Their load rating of 98 XL falls in the range of the tires recommended in the owners manual for 18" all-seasons (97 XL - 99 XL).

I don't know whether there are other concerns with 17" rims on my Cdn E-class - whether they'll fit over the brakes - or if a different size would be better.

Thanks

Hi Oliver, runnin these Mich on my e220, little noisy, but good grip. Previous C class had Conti 830's...they were fantastic, and very quiet. Obviously people drive differently, so one mans meat etc, I ran the Contis into the spring, and they gripped like hell, tho the wear rate increased......hope this helps.
