Does this sound right to you?
After bringing the car in again, I received the following e-mail explanation from from the MB Service Dept.:
We did check the brakes yesterday, they are installed correctly and do not look like they are causing any damage to the rotors. They do make a great deal of noise. After consulting with EBC, the manufacturers, this is what they suggested should be done. They state that we should wait at least 300 to 500 miles until they are bedded good. I was told that any groves or scoring will extend the bedding time. If at that time the noise has not reduced then they recommend shims--doing it too soon could cause damage to the rotors because of thickness of the new pads.
Meanwhile, I have owned the car for 20 months and it only has 12k miles on it. At that rate, I would have to endure this for at least one month. Any ideas or suggestions?
