Tire price fluctuations by season?

Tire price fluctuations by season?
I'm looking at replacing my 2000 CLK430 tires in about 4000 miles or so. I've read, in side comments on this forum, that tire prices will fluctuate according to season (caused by increased demand).

For something in the category of Michelin Pilot Sports, what kind of percentage fluctuation would I expect to see on a site like TireRack?

Would it make sense to order the tires now and keep, anticipating a price rise as the temperatures start rising in Spring and Summer?

depends on the weather
in many retail tire stores the prices do flucuate but, here at The Tire Rack they do not flucuate much if at all
