W208 CLK55 Tire and Wheel Help
Luke,
It's gotten to be time to look for new Tires. I have the stock staggered 17" AMG wheels on my 2001 CLK55.
One option would be to just get new 17" tires. I have been leaning towards either the Michelien PS2's or the Bridgestone S-03's in the stock sizes. Any thoughts on what is the hot set up for the Clk55?
The other option is to take the opportunity to upgrade to a plus 1 or 2. I'm guessing that 18's make the most sense on this car as the 19's might be too rough. But if I can get some help on what fits in an staggered set, what offsets work for front and rear and what size tires I would need... I live in San Jose, CA - so no worries about snow and not much worry about wet weather..
I have looked at the same AMG's at Tirerack, but also like the new black center with polished rim look that seems popular these days. I see these in HRE's, OZ's, Techart (for Porsche) and some others. I'm also of the lighter the better school of thought. Of course, I am on a budget and $5k would not be an option for wheels.. :-)
What are my options..??
Thanks!
Alex

depends on the weather
if it was my choice here's what I would do
18" staggered SSR GT3's in the Satin color with S-03 Pole Position tires
the wheel
the wheel on a G35 (sorry I do not have a pic of it on a CLK)
