"FLUTED" hub on 2002 or new Mercedes Benz??

Hi Guys

I am trying to get a set of 10mm spacers for the front wheels on my 2016 GLE Coupe. One of the Ebay vendor told me that 2002 or newer Mercedes have "FLUTED" hub on the front wheels that regular spacers will not fit.

I then asked, what if someone wants to put aftermarket wheels that requires hub rings? how will the hub ring/wheels fit on the "fluted" hub? The vendor said no issue with that.

I am very confused. Does anyone know what exactly this "fluted" hub is? Why will the hub ring fit, but not a hub-centric spacer?

Thank you in advance.
