Repair kit for brake booster available (600SL, R129)
Hi.
There is hissing noise coming under the dashboard when braking my SL (R129). Braking also leads to unstable idle and loosing the braking power almost completely. I have concluded that the seal(s) inside of the booster is broken.
I would like to know if there is a repair kit available for the brake booster and also instructions how to dismantle it. I have no been able to find a new spare part (whole brake booster) from the web. I did not visit the MB dealer yet but I believe that the price of the new brake booster is very high.
Any suggestions how to continue are welcome. I would like to check at least what is wrong with the booster by opening it.
