Don’t Miss It, Don’t Blink: Snazzy Rennen Forged R55 Transform a Mighty GT-R

-rennenforgedcognac.png

Nissan’s over-the-top GT-R supercar has been called everything from “completely ridiculous” (in a good way) to “utterly enviable” (specifically referring to the wild Nurburgring-developed Nismo variant), with fans of the exotic vehicle often citing the similarities between factory versions and GT3 racing examples. Heck, Nissan even managed to bend the rules with regard to the fine line performance cars must make in the aerodynamics department between down-force and drag with the GT-R. Even with all these formidable draws, there’s always some entity within the tuner scene that manages to take even a ride as nee-perfect as the GT-R to a different level.

Behold, this wildly fetching GT-R R35 as transformed by Rennen Forged with some help from Exclusive Vinyl and EUDM Autosports, all dressed up with plenty of places to go courtesy of a stunning set of Rennen Forged R55 step lip wheels boasting Russian Gold dials and bezels, set off by gloss black hardware. If the eye-opening look of these wheels don’t grab you by the throat, the super-aggressive configuration surely will; in the front, a huge 21 x 11 offset keeps this powerful coupe glued to the pavement, while out back a 21 x 13.5 pattern adds even more stability. During fitment of these R55's – which were ordered from EUDM Autosports for this project – Rennen engineers took precise measurements to ensure an exact fit for the GT-R, and the results were magnificent.

Beyond the fetching rims, this Nissan GT-R boasts a growling, burbling 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that spits out some 565 stump-tugging horsepower, all controlled by a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and advanced all-wheel-drive system that work in tandem to get that monstrous power down to the road. A full Liberty Walk body kit finishes off this uniquely sumptuous Japanese supercoupe, in addition to matte black wrapping which also extends to the car’s newly-added hips, themselves covered with gold accents. These design elements start at the “GT-R” sticker on the side of the vehicle and extend to the exhaust, and finally down to the car’s emblems. The body kit and vinyl wrapping were installed by Exclusive Vinyl.

All Rennen Forged wheels are made in the USA, designed to be fully customized by way of varying levels of concavity, custom diameters, widths and offsets and nearly infinite numbers of finish choices including carbon fiber, brushed, polished and color-matched style.
