Pilot Sport's - How many miles
All,
I just drug out my '02 SLK320 's summer wheels to clean/wax them up for the spring season. I have the sport package, so it came with Pilot Sport's from MB. I noticed that the rear tires are getting quite close to the wear bars in the center channel.
I'd guess there are about 10K miles on these tires, as I run a totally different winter wheel package.
10K for a set of tires seems ludicris to me? Anyone have these things last? I realize they are performance tires, and they can't be expected to last 80K miles or anything but I would have never guessed 10K would be it.
Thanks.

Pilot Sport has okay treadwear, they should last around 15K. But it really depends on your driving habit/style. Just make sure your next set of tire is not S-03, I heard they will be gone in 8-10K miles!

With the Pilot Sports, I've read as low as 7k and as high as 30+k. Driving style appears to play a huge factor in the tread life. The average, based on what I've seen seems to be 18 - 20k.
