Unhappy Bent AT Riva

I was minding my own business doing 65 on the NJ TPK,when all of a sudden,I hit a pothole that must have been 3 feet in diameter.I got an immediate shimmy, figuring I knocked off some balance weights on the wheel.>>>WRONG. I bent the wheel.I couldnt avoid the hole cause there was a car right next door, and the highway had no room for swerving.

My question for Luke...whats the chances my alignment is bad? And whats the chances that the tire didnt get ruined?(GY F1GS D3)I ordered another Riva from Tire rack, mounted with a new tire just to be sure. I'm hoping the tire can be saved,,,,and is there any recourse for the wheel?

I thought I read someplace that NJ and/or NY will reimburse you for a bent wheel is you hit a pot hole. Might want to do a search for info.

Oooooouch Steve! What were you looking at......? How fast were you going?

Well, if there's a place where the city will pay for your damage, got get her checked out ASAP before you make a claim!

You gonna get new ones or just replace?

Hope it all works out for ya. Sorry to hear that dude

depends on the weather
there is a very good chance your alignment is now out of whack .... as far as the tire goes if it appears normal with no sidewall buldge it could have survived

Wink Yeah,,I thought so.....

the tire looks no worse for wear Luke, the new one should arrive from Ind. tomorrow, just in time for another visit to the culprit(TPK). And you guys are all correct about re-imbursement,they are forwarding a claim form,,,and these guys had the pothole(according to them)already filled 2 hrs after I hit it!!!!!

I was doing about 75,,,I think had it been slower,I wouldnt need the rim. ....Damn tho,,,it wasnt a wheel with existing curb rash either...LOL
