steering wheel is shimmying on SL500

Changed OEM wheels/tires on my 2004 SL500 to 20x9 and 20x10.5 with 245/35-20 and 275/30/20 Toyo T1-S tires. Now my steering wheel shimmies when the car hits about 50-60mph. It is quite a noticeable vibration.

I'm sure someone has experienced the same issue - how can I resolve this?

My wild guess is one of your wheel weighs has fallen out or the wheels are not balanced properly. I dont think it has anything to do with the tires itself.

yes, wheels are hub centric (got the hub rings from the wheel manafacturer). what else could it be? maybe the balancing?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
since you said 50ish...i would guess that it is definitely balancing.

It could be an out of round tire or a bad rim.

Find a shop with a Hunter sp9700 and an operator that really knows how to use it.
